In 2012 Frank Mahn engineering & design was approached by Joost Alferink to participate in a network of Dutch designers to contribute to the realization of ideas and patents held by Sabah al Ahmed Center (SAC) in Kuwait. The SAC is an institute established in May 2010 as an initiative from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, in an effort to support and nurture gifted and talented Kuwaiti individuals.

The Love Making Apparatus was the first project in which Frank Mahn engineering and design collaborated with the SAC. It is a device that helps men who suffer from paraplegia to have sexual intercourse. Many of such devices already exist but this specific one enables the man to sit in an upright position while his partner lies on the movable bed. The bed and chair are upholstered with leather and fixed to a stainless steel frame. A working prototype was delivered in December 2012.
